Choosing Your Attorney

Choosing the attorney who will handle your family law case is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. The right attorney will listen attentively to your concerns and ensure that your questions are answered-- you should never feel left in the dark. Below are a few questions to keep in mind during your consultation with an attorney:

1. "Who will handle my case?"

Some firms have the reputation of passing cases from one attorney to another within their firm, which can result in lost information and inconsistent results. At The Bulger Firm, cases are handled cases personally-- we get to know you and your family, and remain committed to you for the duration of your case. If you have questions or need support following your case, we'll be here for that, too.

2. "Do you have hourly billing requirements?"

There are law firms that require their attorneys to bill a certain number of hours every month-- this can translate into clients paying for services that don't need or want, which can get very expensive, very quickly. The Bulger Firm has no quotas or hourly requirements, which means that clients receive only the representation they need, with the service they deserve.

3. "What does representation include?"

While every case is unique, it is important to confirm that your attorney is prepared to take your case to trial if a settlement is not reached. There are many family law attorneys who have never tried a divorce or paternity case, and some are unwilling to do so. At The Bulger Firm, we have the trial experience and skill to represent you the beginning of your case to the end. We are with you all the way.
